Turmeric helps heal boils and wounds

Turmeric also known as curcumin or Curcuma longa is well known as a multi-purpose home remedy. Turmeric benefits the skin, heart, liver and lungs. Turmeric is extensively used for treating skin diseases in addition to promoting healthy skin. It's anti-inflammatory, anti-septic, anti-tumor and astringent properties are especially useful for treating painful boils such as sebacious cysts, furuncles, carbuncles, cystic acne, Hidradenitis supparativa, pilonidal cysts and boils caused by MRSA and impetigo.

A turmeric paste poultice also works very well to reduce swelling caused by sprains. Turmeric can also be directly applied for healing wounds as it is a disinfectant, antibacterial, antiseptic. Turmeric is dehydrating and hence it is advisable to take plenty of water and other fluids while taking turmeric.
