Guduchi in Ayurveda:
The properties ascribed to it by Ayurveda are that it is antiperiodic, antipyretic, alterative, diuretic, anti-inflammatory. In traditional ayurvedic practices it has been used in cases of fever, urinary disorders, dyspepsia, general debility and urinary diseases. A decoction of the leaves is used for the treatment of gout.
It is also considered good for the brain. It is described as one of the Medhya Rasayana (mental rejuvenative) in the Charak Samhita (an ancient book of Ayurvedic Medicine).
